It was the first time that 9 young adults from Singapore came to India to visit Corbett Tiger Reserve. During their stay, they were accommodated at Infinity Resorts Corbett Senior quarters. Their aim was to work with The Corbett Foundation, an NGO working with locals for the preservation and conservation of the wildlife.
The first few days were allotted to knowing the Corbett Tiger Reserve, its flora and fauna and also what can be done to help villagers understand that they can do their part in wildlife conservation.
The next few days involved getting involved in the various activities such as Rural Medical Outreach Program, Camera trapping, Interim Relief Program for compensation of livestock predated by tiger and other interesting events such as bird census, etc. They were all awarded certificates for their participation in the above events.
One of the highlights of their trip was the sighting of a tiger at Bijrani during their first safari outing. It was something they did not expect and that too, within 20 minutes of entering the park. Needless to say, time passes so quickly when they are enjoying themselves, and they soon came to the end of their stay.
Everyone felt that is a memorable experience and probably a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to be so close to nature.
We wish them all the best in their future endeavors!
